Dawn Holt, Co-Chair
, holds a bachelors degree in Psychology and a masters degree in Studies in Aging from the University of North Texas. She worked in community mental health for over fifteen years before quitting her job two years ago to devote herself full-time to community service. Dawn is the mother of a young gay man who has become her inspiration for work in the GLBITQQ community. In addition to Equity Foundation, Dawn is the current President of PFLAG Portland, serves on the Portland Police Bureau’s Sexual Minority Round Table, and the Q Center’s Family Committee. Dawn recently chaired the Washington County Arts, Heritage and Humanities Coalition, an all volunteer board charged with distributing funds from the Oregon Cultural Trust in Washington County. She also currently serves on the advisory board for the Downtown Hillsboro Renaissance project. She lives in Beaverton with her son, husband, and Beagle, Schubert.  
Tim Chapman, Co-Chair & Secretary, is Vice President for Academic Affairs at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, where he directs the college's doctoral training program. He received his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1994, and did two years of postdoctoral work at the Institute for Health Research at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Before moving into the alternative medical field, he worked in New York City as a Research Scientist on various NIH-funded grants, ranging from genetic linkage studies of anxiety disorders to the epidemiology of HIV. Tim currently serves as a Commissioner on the National Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and was also a founding board member of the Asian Institute of Medical Studies in Tucson, Arizona. Tim and his partner Adam live in the Tabor Heights neighborhood in southeast Portland.  
Richard Colman, Vice-Chair, is a Licensed Psychologist in private practice. He earned a B.A. in Psychology from U.C.L.A. and a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the University of Oregon. He works exclusively with children, adolescents and families. He has been a long time advocate for youth having worked with children from low socioeconomic families in Head Start, youth with developmental challenges as well as GLBT youth and families with GLBT parents. Richard’s interest in Equity has evolved from his participation in a project that is attempting to create acceptance for LGBT youth involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice system. Richard was born in New York City and moved to Los Angeles with his family when he was seven. He has lived in Portland longer than anywhere else. In his free time, Richard enjoys traveling, reading, films and theater, gardening and playing the piano and drums.  
Jack Flug, Treasurer, holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University. Currently Jack works for EasyStreet and brings to Equity Foundation over 15 years of experience in the financial sector. In his spare time he enjoys playing tennis, camping, running, and skiing. 
Ann Sherman, Past Chair, is a partner with the law firm of K & L | Gates. Her practice focuses on public finance, including federal and state tax and securities law issues. She also serves as underwriter, trustee and bank counsel for numerous financial institutions. Ann’s other career highlights include partner/lawyer at Ater Wynne LLP, and professor at the University of Kansas and San Jose State. Ann holds a bachelor’s of fine arts from the University of Illinois – Champagne/Urbana, Ph.D. from Stanford University and a degree of doctor of jurisprudence, Magna Cum Laude, from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College.  
Tom Barreto was born in Lebanon, Oregon and opened his optometry practice at Eyes on Broadway in 1991. He received his undergraduate education in 1983 and doctorate in optometry at Pacific University in 1986. His professional interests are primary patient care, ocular disease management, contact lenses and pre and post operative lasik surgery. He is also a member of VOSHE: a group of optometrists who travel around the world providing eye care to third world countries. Having been active in many organizations over the years, Tom is well-known by members of the Portland community . He has been a long-time supporter of Equity Foundation because it is making a difference by bringing people together to create change by supporting organizations throughout Oregon who are committed to diversity. He serves on Equity's Board Development Committee. Tom and his partner, Brian, enjoy tennis, gardening, traveling and their yellow lab, Bensen.

Luna Jaffe (bio pending)

Alayna Luria recently moved to Portland from the Bay Area. Prior to her move, she worked as a grant writer for Girls Incorporated of Alameda County, a non-profit dedicated to inspiring girls to be strong, smart, and bold, and has had a variety of experiences in fundraising and social services. Alayna is currently a graduate student in the Masters of Social Work program at Portland State University. She and her partner live in North Portland.

Mathew Neupert is another Portland native who has joined the Equity Foundation board to give back to his hometown. After graduating from Portland State University with a BA in Busniness Administration/Marketing, he began utilizing his skills as an intern in numerous businesses around the city, such as Portland Business Alliance and Hubbell Communications. Now he strives to use these same skills to help the sexual minority groups of Oregon get the visibility and advancement they need.

Jan Schorey, received a much needed bonk on the head in Lesvos, Greece after a moped accident and left her 13 year career in Information Systems Management for a new one in the Financial Services Industry. Finding that alternative investment choices were nil, she began specializing in Socially Responsible Investing in 1989 and has continued on this path. Now, having founded Portlandia Investment Management, she works with small groups and individuals to align their investments with their values. Jan even still carries a few tiny pebbles in her knee, reminding her of how she came to her current calling.

Diane Tutch,is a management consultant with expertise in organizational and board development, fund development, program evaluation and grant writing. Previously, she was a vice president at the United Way for Columbia-Willamette. She holds a master’s degree in social work, community organization, from the University of Washington (Seattle) and a bachelor’s degree in social work, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Minnesota.

Beth Wolfsong, has clerked for the Hon. Marilyn Litzenberger at the Multnomah County Courthouse which gave her invaluable experience in the courts as well as the systems and procedures that allowed a case to proceed smoothly. She also worked as a staff attorney for both Southern Arizona Legal Aid of Tucson, Arizona and Pascua Yaqui Legal Services for the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. At Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Beth represented survivors of domestic violence cases in contested divorce and child custody cases. As an attorney for the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, Beth represented tribal members in the areas of family law, consumer protection, and public benefits, in several state and tribal courts throughout the State of Arizona. Beth grew up in Portland, Oregon and enjoys all this area has to offer. In her free time, Beth and her partner and their lovely daughter enjoy hiking, backpacking, camping, skiing and a multitude of other outdoor activities.
